NSMen to receive $100 vouchers retails and F&B
Men who have completed National Service (NS), those serving as of Jan 1 this year and those who enlist in the 2017 batch are eligible to receive the $100 vouchers. The vouchers can be used at selected retail and food and beverage outlets, and details will be released at a later date on a dedicated Web portal ns50.sg. There are reportedly around 1 million Singaporean men who are eligible for this voucher.
These were announced by Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Tuesday (Feb 7) as he launched NS50, a year-long celebration to commemorate 50 years of NS, at the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) on Pulau Tekong. The purpose is to recognize of their contributions to Singapore’s defence.
“We pay tribute to generations of National Servicemen who have contributed to the peace, stability and progress that Singapore enjoys today,” he said in a letter thanking them for their “dedication and unwavering commitment to NS”.
